SRSA Rope Access Setter: Advanced

 

Who for: Current holders of a UK-based roped setting qualification who wish to advance their skills and be able to take on additional tasks, such as operating behind a climbing wall to carry out basic maintenance tasks, for instance replacing T-nuts. Advanced rope and rescue techniques will also be covered

Duration: 2 days.

Ratio: 1:4

Style: Combined training and assessment.

Pre-requirements: Hold a valid UK-based roped setting qualification, have a proven track record as an experienced and current climber and setter, be competent with various rope handling skills.

Equipment: All specialised equipment will be provided.

At completion the candidate will:

  • hold a 3-year validation in Scotland, plus UK-wide and overseas where accepted;
  • hold a certificate which confirm demonstration of appropriate WaH skills at a high level, as required to safely carry out various technical roped route setting tasks and advanced emergency procedures;
  • have a good knowledge of current WaH legislation requirements, along with elements of other legislation such as LOLER and PUWER;
  • understand risk evaluation when working in confined spaces and to know limitations.
